Pre-orienteering trip

This is the current plan. It may change. If the weather is terrible we probably won’t want to climb the mountain. If we have problems booking the trains then we’ll have to change our plans (you can’t buy tickets on the internet in advance if you aren’t a Chinese resident, so we have to buy them at the station once we arrive).

The transport in between the days intentionally doesn’t say which day it will be on yet - it might be that evening or the next morning, we aren’t totally sure about which trains/accommodation we will get. It sounds disorganised, but something will work out and whatever we end up doing I’m sure it will be an adventure!

• Saturday fly in to Shanghai and join up with Czech group
• Train to Hangzhou
• Sunday Sightseeing in Hangzhou
• Train to Huangshan + 1 hour bus to Huangshan Mountain
• Monday Climb Huangshan Mountain (1864m, about 1000m climb on concrete steps)
• Stay in hotel near the top
• Tuesday Walk back down the mountain
• Bus back to Huangshan, train to Nanjing
• Wednesday evening orienteering camp starts
